Sri Sathya Sai Orphanage Trust was founded on 17th, June, 1996 as an non governmental organization (NGO), beginning as an orphanage only sheltering nine boys, it has grown to the point today which it hosted more than 111 philanthropic projects. The organization aims to serve humanity, as it has the motto, ‘Service to humanity is Service to God’.
In 2018 while the CEO of Weempowerlife, Meghana Nair, was visiting India, she took a short visit to the Sai Gramam Orphanage with her grandfather. While visiting, they distributed sweets to the inmates of Saigram and had lunch with them. Meghana was able to spend some memorable time with her grandfather and the inmates during her last visit to the orphanage 2 years ago. Meghana hopes to visit the Sai Gramam orphanage when travel restrictions lessen.
Meghana's grandfather, SK Nair, made a donation to the Sai Gramam Orphanage with the funds raised by Weempowerlife. He donated 25,000 rupees which is equivalent to around $345.
Sri Sathya Sai Orphanage Trust is working on providing dialyses for impoverished chronic renal patients. After 12 years of service, Navajeevanam has provided 300,000 free dialyses though 12 free dialysis centers in 13 districts. Right now the organization is working on launching a free mobile dialysis unit to serve the rural outskirts of the capital city.
In Kasaragod, more than eleven villages has been sprayed with chemical insecticide that have pernicious effects. Water, soil and air is contaminated causing mental, physical and behavioral disorders, sensory loss, neurological ailments, cardiovascular diseases, congenital anomalies, dermatological and musculoskeletal disorders among people. Though the use of this chemical was banned in 2001, its effect on health still prevails in the area. So Sri Sathya Sai Orphanage Trust works to serve the victims of the chemical, endosulfan, at Kasaragod district, on helping with building 108 houses.
This project establish a food court that has been serving people ever since the past decade, as of now, over 2 crore of people has relished food from here.
